West Ham hold secret Manchester United talks for Mohammed Kudus swap deal
Mohammed Kudus faces an uncertain future at West Ham after a lacklustre second campaign at the London Stadium.
The 24-year-old has failed to replicate his fine form from his debut season with the Hammers and thus could leave this summer.
Kudus has suitors in England, with Liverpool and Arsenal linked, while Saudi Arabia is also a possible destination.
However, details have emerged of a surprising possible swap deal involving Manchester United.

West Ham and Man United discuss player swap
Kudus turned West Ham heads in his first season at the London Stadium, becoming one of their leading players alongside Jarrod Bowen.
The Ghana international’s threatening wing play tormented defenders in the Premier League and Europe.
He finished the 2023/24 season with impressive figures, totalling 23 goal involvements in all competitions.
However, this season has followed a different narrative, with the winger only managing nine contributions in claret and blue.
Statistics | 2023/24 | 2024/25 |
Appearances | 33 | 32 |
Goals | 8 | 5 |
Assists | 6 | 3 |
Touches | 48.3 | 47.1 |
Big chances created | 5 | 4 |
Accurate passes | 19.8 (94%) | 21.6 (90%) |
Kudus’ poor displays have led to exit rumours, and now there have been fresh links with Ruben Amorim’s side.
It is understood that Manchester United and West Ham held secret talks over a swap deal involving Jadon Sancho and Kudus, according to Graeme Bailey via United In Focus (3 June).
He claims that while both players were open to the prospect of the move, talks faded almost as soon as they began.
It is believed that the Irons’ management were unsure of Sancho’s potential fit into their system, which is why talks broke down.

The Hammers should swerve Jadon Sancho at all costs
While Sancho has represented some of the leading names in world football, he is not worth the risk for West Ham.
After a fine stint in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund, the winger has been unable to make an impact with Man United or Chelsea.
The 25-year-old only managed 19 Premier League starts and was a peripheral figure in West London.
Furthermore, his lack of form over the years has meant he has lost his place in the England team and looks unlikely to regain it.
The last thing Graham Potter needs is a liability, and there have been question marks over the winger’s attitude.
Not only would Sancho be a downgrade on Kudus, but he could cause unnecessary conflict for Potter and the Hammers.
