West Ham United have an increased chance of keeping Jarrod Bowen.

The London Stadium side' captain was rumoured to be looking for an exit this summer after the club's relegation to the Championship.

Premier League clubs such as Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United are believed to want to sign the Hammers star.

However, the Irons must have renewed hope after a new wage reveal on the 29-year-old.

In an ideal world, they keep the England hopeful and earn immediate promotion back to the top-flight.

Why West Ham will have renewed confidence that Bowen is staying

Bowen is understood to be one of the Hammers' highest earners, on a figure of around £100,000-per-week.

Many players reportedly have 50 per cent wage decreases in their contracts in the event that the East London club dropped down to the second tier.

However, a report from The Sun on 4 June claims that Bowen is not one of them, and his salary will remain at the current rate and not decrease.

Keeping Bowen could be the difference between promotion or misery

The E20 outfit simply have to keep Bowen around, he should be the spearhead of their promotion charge.

He is a natural leader, often apologising to supporters and fronting up to the media after bad results.

He is also their best difference maker when it comes to trying to get out of the notoriously difficult division.

Despite Nuno Espirito Santo side's bad form last season, he still managed to notch nine goals and 11 assists in 38 league matches, which is a solid return.

Losing him would be an absolute disaster, from a fan perspective in terms of the atmosphere becoming more toxic, but also from a PR outlook, selling your best player is never a good thing.

If the Hammers can convince him to stick around, given that his wages have not reduced, then it would be the most important business that they do this summer.

It would be much more crucial than any possible incoming that they could make, it is as simple as that.

That would obviously help, but Bowen will still be the key man and if he were to depart, it would leave them in a very precarious position.
