West Ham have fresh Niclas Fullkrug headache as Max Allegri already looks decided

Niclas Fullkrug has not particularly caught the eye for AC Milan since joining on loan from West Ham in the winter transfer window.

Fullkrug was a disappointing signing for West Ham, and it seemed to be only a matter of time before he would be loaned out elsewhere.

AC Milan quickly snapped him up until the end of the season, with the Hammers signing Pablo and Taty Castellanos as his replacements.

It’s safe to say that West Ham have been much better since the German striker left the London Stadium, and AC Milan manager Max Allegri certainly isn’t keen on him so far.

Max Allegri not keen on signing Niclas Fullkrug permanently

Fullkrug saw the Milan move as the perfect opportunity to build on his career, but it hasn’t panned out yet.

The option to buy clause is set at £4.37million, which means he wouldn’t have to do much for the Italian outfit to sign him.

However, he has been very disappointing, scoring just one goal in his 10 Serie A appearances.

Italia media outlet Sempre Milan reported on Monday that the lack of goals and the fact that Allegri clearly doesn’t see him as a starter means it is “unlikely” that the 33-year-old will join the Italian giants permanently.

As a result, the Hammers will face the task of trying to offload him again in the summer, which is the last thing Nuno needs.

What’s clear is that if he were to return, the Hammers would look to sanction a permanent exit, which is hard to disagree with.

Fullkrug won’t get an opportunity at West Ham next season

Fullkrug played 20 times for West Ham last season, having to deal with hamstring and Achilles problems.

Even when he was fit, he failed to impress, and his form has typified how poor the Hammers have been in the top flight.

His form under Graham Potter and Nuno when he was called on in the first half of this campaign was arguably worse, and it’s hard to imagine the striker playing another game in E20.

It will definitely be tough to find a club that is willing to sign him based off of his wage demands.

Fullkrug’s return will prove to be a real headache, and the Hammers will somehow need to find a way of offloading him to another club if Milan don’t decide to sign him permanently.
