West Ham hard at work to sign Patrick Dorgu as transfer update emerges
West Ham United are working hard to sign Patrick Dorgu from Lecce ahead of the January transfer window, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
However, the Italian newspaper, reporting via their website on 3 December, added that Napoli have a plan to scupper the Irons, as well as other European clubs’ plans.
The Serie A club are prepared to let the 20-year-old, who has a £33.2million price tag, remain on loan at Lecce until the end of the season while also offering £24.9m plus add-ons in transfer fees.

The Hammers’ interest in Dorgu comes as a surprise as they have three left-footed attackers in Mohammed Kudus, Jarrod Bowen and Luis Guilherme. They also have Crysencio Summerville in their ranks.
With Guilherme already struggling for playing time hard to come by at the London Stadium, it is hard to see where the Denmark international would fit.
However, West Ham being hard at work to sign Dorgu suggests one of those attackers may soon be on their way out of the club.
Kudus is the likeliest to leave as he has been linked with a move to Liverpool amid Mohamed Salah’s uncertain future at Anfield [TEAMtalk].

Primarily a winger, Dorgu is also comfortable playing as a full-back, having appeared on the left side of the defence on two occasions for Lecce this season.
With Chelsea and Tottenham making moves for him in the summer, there is no doubt that the Dane has a huge potential, but West Ham are better off focusing on signing a striker instead in January.
In other West Ham news, this Irons player could have his loan spell cut short in January amid new developments.
