West Ham handed £32m ultimatum over Sorloth amid Saudi Arabia development
West Ham United must pay £32 million to sign Alexander Sorloth from Villarreal amid interest from Saudi Arabia, according to Relevo.
Matteo Moretto reported for the outlet on 16 July that the Hammers have already submitted a £25.2m bid for the Norway international.
The La Liga side turned down the initial offer and wants his £32m buyout clause to be matched before moving forward with a deal.
Sorloth is held “in high regard” by Villarreal with a move to Saudi Arabia with Al Qadsiah already rejected despite a large salary being offered.
West Ham interested in Alexander Sorloth
It is no secret that the Hammers have been in need of a new first-team striker for many years.
This has seen many big names come through the door at the London Stadium and fail to make a positive impact on the Hammers.
Michail Antonio has kept his role as the regular number nine under David Moyes in recent years but is now 34 years old.
Danny Ings was signed but has also failed to recreate his form from his Southampton days and looks set to return to St Mary’s.
Sorloth could prove to be the perfect option to start as the number nine under Julen Lopetegui ahead of his first season in charge of West Ham.

The 28-year-old will bring physicality to the front line at the London Stadium while being quick enough to beat his man when needed.
After 23 goals and six assists in 34 La Liga appearances last campaign [FotMob], the Hammers could find their perfect striker option for just £32m.
In other West Ham news, Arsenal have named their price for Emile Smith Rowe this summer.
