West Ham get second Samu Omorodion chance after where Irons personnel have been spotted
West Ham United appear to be taking a closer look at Porto forward Samu Omorodion ahead of the January transfer window.
Omorodion was previously linked with West Ham last year and the Irons have lived to regret not moving for the Spain international.
With Niclas Fullkrug on his way out of West Ham, Irons chiefs have seemingly now upped their search for a replacement.
And if reports out of Portugal are anything to go by, West Ham could well be about to turn to Omorodion as that much-needed upgrade.
West Ham scouts in attendance for Porto vs Nice
West Ham have had a week off since drawing at Bournemouth, with Liverpool next up at the London Stadium on Sunday.
It appears the eyes of West Ham figures have been elsewhere, as A Bola’s print edition reported on Saturday that scouts were in attendance at Estadio do Dragao on Thursday.
Irons personnel are believed to have been keeping a close eye on Omorodion, although they are not alone in showing an interest.
Omorodion scored a penalty that he had himself won in Porto’s 3-0 win over Nice, which West Ham scouts would have taken close notice of.
Given the previous interest, and the fact Omorodion is still turning on the style, a move as early as January surely cannot be ruled out at this point.
Which other players have West Ham been linked with?
January is going to be a vital month for West Ham as the Hammers look to push away from relegation danger.
Nuno Espirito Santo will want at least one new face brought in, but hopefully that is the absolute minimum.

Oscar Mingueza has also been linked with West Ham, although it is likely that the defender will now remain at Celta Vigo.
AC Milan’s Santiago Gimenez is another believed to be on West Ham’s radar, as is German teenager Cajetan Lenz.
What Nuno could really do with is a forward that can slot seamlessly into the forward line and bang in goals.
Finding that player is not going to be easy, but Omorodion is certainly a name that will get supporters excited.
