West Ham ‘finally show life’ in exciting update on Rangers gem Igamane

West Ham will make no secret of the fact that they want to sign a new striker this summer.

As has been the theme in the Premier League for the first month of the window, West Ham‘s transfer business is yet to really get underway.

The permanent arrival of Jean-Clair Todibo remains their only addition, though the expectation is that that will change once the new PSR year is in full force, which is due at the end of the month.

Once that is complete, recruitment should accelerate at the London Stadium, and Rangers’ Hamza Igamane is on their radar.

Rangers prepared for Igamane exit as Premier League clubs circle

Given that Niclas Fullkrug is now West Ham’s only out-and-out striker, it is evident that bolstering that area of the squad will be a priority for Graham Potter and his side.

One of those to have been linked to address those concerns has been Igamane, whose exit from Glasgow is starting to look more and more inevitable as the window goes on.

Via Le Matin, 27 June, pg24, West Ham are said to be “considering going on the offensive” to negotiate a deal for the striker, who has a price tag of £20million.

As many as seven Premier League clubs are said to have been alerted by his situation at Ibrox, with a handful of clubs in France also interested in a deal.

One of those includes Lille, who are looking to replace Jonathan David, who was previously linked with a move to West Ham.

Potter needs to start seeing movement at London Stadium

After such a poor campaign last time out, the Irons simply need to make the most of the transfer window wherever and whenever they can, though signing a striker is a non-negotiable.

Goals win games, and aside from Jarrod Bowen, Potter lacks that reliable goalscorer who can make the difference in tight encounters.
