West Ham eye 'lucrative' Dwight McNeil signing - here's what they could pay Everton
West Ham United could sign Dwight McNeil from Everton as they prepare for the Championship.
It looks likely to be a summer of change at the London Stadium after relegation.
A final day win against Leeds United wasn't enough to remain in the Premier League and now the Irons' trajectory has changed.
The transfer window is going to be important as the Hammers need to prepare themselves for second tier football for the first time since 2012.
It will also be about replacing key stars as many first-team players edge closer to the exit door.
McNeil is the latest target for the East London club as they seek much-needed attacking reinforcements.
West Ham move in Dwight McNeil's hands
There is likely to be movement in the claret and blue outfit's forward line the longer the summer goes on.
With Adama Traore already gone, there could be further departures from the London Stadium.
Ex-WHUEmployee reported via The West Ham Way on Monday that Crysencio Summerville is "increasingly likely" to leave.
McNeil could be seen as the Dutchman's replacement as the Irons are reportedly interested in the Everton man.
The 26-year-old is someone the E20 side want to sign for a "potentially lucrative price" as his contract enters its final year on Merseyside.
A cheap deal that would fit in within West Ham's budget could be on the table this summer, but only if the winger is willing to drop down a division.
How much could West Ham pay for Everton ace McNeil?
The Toffees have certainly gotten good value out of the attacker after his £20million move from Burnley in 2022.
He has featured 130 times for the Blues and has contributed to 33 goals across all competitions.
That won't help the price Everton can demand as his contract has just 12 months remaining, pointing towards a cut-price fee.
They nearly sold him for around £20m in January, but Crystal Palace pulled out at the last minute, something that may leave David Moyes' side desperate for a summer sale.
They may be happy recieve around £10m for his signature and West Ham could certainly take advantage.
He wants to get on the ball and cut inside from the left, just like Summerville, so he could be an ideal replacement.
