West Ham are eyeing a move for Wolves forward Hwang Hee-chan in the January transfer window, according to Matt Law.

The Telegraph journalist has reported (5 January) that Hwang is on a list of striker targets for Hammers alongside Brighton striker Ferguson and Emmanuel Latte Lath from Middlesbrough.

Although the Irons have already made an enquiry about Ferguson's services, Law says Brighton want to be sure about the fitness of Danny Welbeck before making any concrete decisions about the 20-year-old's future.

West Ham need a striker in January

West Ham seem to be very keen on the services of Ferguson although GiveMeSport reported [4 January] that the Hammers could have to fight off the likes of Arsenal and Fulham to secure his services which could make it a tall order.

However, it is positive that the East London outfit are looking at other options with striker reinforcements being essential due to the injuries to both Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio keeping them out of action.

Hwang could be a solid addition for the Hammers as an experienced player with 69 caps under his belt for South Korea and has proven himself in the Premier League with Wolves, meaning he could bring a level of calmness it seems the side are crying out for.

The 28-year-old only has two goals so far this season, both from his last two games although did miss some action earlier in the campaign through injury.

Furthermore, the forward has proven he can score in the Premier League having netted 12 goals for Wolves last term meaning a change of scenery could also do the player some good to get him firing again.

The Telegraph report states that Wolves turned down a £21million bid for Hwang in the summer and, having found form under new manager Vitor Pereira, he could prove to be another player that's hard to secure but the Hammers need to do all they can to get a striker through the door who's up to standard.
