West Ham expected to launch new Jesse Lingard bid in coming days

West Ham have been handed a massive boost in their bid to re-sign Manchester United forward Jesse Lingard, according to ExWHUemployee.

Writing via his Patreon page on Saturday, the reliable Hammers insider reported that Lingard, 28, is now receptive towards a return to the London Stadium after impressing on loan there in the second half of last season.

It is understood that West Ham are now expected to launch a bid to sign the England international in the coming days.

“Some positive news emerging today is that Jesse Lingard appears to have changed his mind and is a lot more open to a move back to West Ham,” Ex said on Patreon.

“People around Jesse are said to be making [his] feelings known.

“Originally Jesse had decided he wanted to stay at Manchester United and was also interested in a move to Atletico Madrid, this is why David Sullivan gave the deal only 10 per cent chance of being completed.

“The move to Madrid doesn’t appear to have transpired and his future has not been assured at Manchester United. Therefore the player is more open to a move now.

“West Ham are expected to launch a bid in the coming days and there is renewed optimism that the deal could still happen.”

It’s been a frustrating summer transfer window and even though we play Newcastle on Sunday, not many of our fans are in an optimistic mood.

As it stands, the West Ham squads is weaker now than it was last season even though we’ve won qualification to the Europa League.

However, all the frustration, all the angry rants and all the lack of optimism will be worth it if Lingard comes back.

He will be our signing of the summer – there’s no doubt about that.

There’s been a lot of back and forth with him and Man United since his loan spell ended but the England attacker really needs to realise the best option for him is to join us.

Man United’s squad has been strengthened a lot this summer and Jadon Sancho’s mega-money move to Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund is going to hinder Lingard even more.

We’re a perfect level for him and he’ll guarantee himself a starting spot and European football by playing for David Moyes this season.
