West Ham expect to announce Nikola Vlasic signing on Monday

West Ham expect to announce the signing of CSKA Moscow playmaker Nikola Vlasic today, according to the Daily Mail.

The UK newspaper claims talks are at an advanced stage over a £25million deal for the 23-year-old ex-Everton attacker.

David Moyes is said to be a long-term admirer of the Croatia international who scored against Scotland at the recent European Championship.

Busy

After a lacklustre first few months in the summer transfer window, the Irons are really ramping up business in the last few days.

Arguably, it’s not before time. West Ham really should have made more signings a lot earlier.

They were probably helped by a fairly fortunate start to the season that sees them on seven points after three Premier League games.

There was a trip to Newcastle United before a home encounter against a Leicester City side that had ten men for the majority of the game.

That was followed by a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The Irons should not be condemned for beating what’s put in front of them, but events could have been different had a tougher fixture list been handed out.

As it is, it looks likely that Vlasic will join Kurt Zouma and Alphonse Areola at the London Stadium, while there will still be hopes that a late move for Jesse Lingard will go through.

Those four are hungry players at good ages, so all in all, it would be a good transfer window.

But Hammers won’t want to endure the agony of this summer again.

In other West Ham news, the Irons want to sign this teenage sensation who has a release clause, club plan London meeting.
