West Ham discuss move to sign player Nuno transformed into a machine as Niclas Fullkrug replacement
Niclas Fullkrug is closer than ever to leaving West Ham.
AC Milan are in pole position to sign Fullkrug, with a loan deal until the end of the season lined up.
West Ham are in a relegation battle, as the German striker has been unable to help Nuno Espirito Santo in recent months through injury and a lack of form.
Fullkrug‘s move to the Irons hasn’t worked out for all parties, and with the January transfer window looming, the Hammers are after a new striker.

Nuno Espirito Santo eyes Chris Wood reunion
West Ham have been linked with Jorgen Strand Larsen from Wolves, but the striker’s current form may worry.
The Norwegian has scored just one goal for Wolves in the Premier League this campaign, with his side rock bottom of the division on just two points.
However, according to talkSPORT on Sunday, the Hammers have internally discussed the prospect of bringing Nottingham Forest’s Chris Wood to the London Stadium in January.
No official approach has been made yet, but the links make sense given the 34-year-old’s current situation and previous history with Nuno.
| Games | Goals |
| 36 | 20 |
Nuno led Nottingham Forest to qualify for European football after finishing in seventh place in the league in the Reds’ last campaign.
The New Zealand international has struggled since Nuno left Forest, and has been sidelined with a knee injury since October.
Wood is due to return to fitness later in December, but Igor Jesus’ scoring rate for Forest may mean a move to West Ham is likely.
Wood vs Jorgen Strand Larsen finishing comparison
West Ham need a striker, but who the Hammers bring in could be the difference between staying in the Premier League and relegation.
Fullkrug wasn’t good enough at the end of the day, as West Ham has suffered for too long without a natural goalscoring striker.
Chris Wood vs Jorgen Strand Larsen comparison (2024-25 season):
Giving Strand Larsen the benefit of the doubt, the Hammers may have seen enough of the Wolves forward from last season to make a move in January.
- Wood hugely overperformed his xG of 13.4 with 20 goals
- Strand Larsen failed to impress as much with 14 goals from an xG of 10.3
- Wood only had 14 more shots than Strand Larsen last season, but was more clinical
But the readings from last campaign prove what is even more evident this season. Wood is better and has more goals in just eight games than Strand Larsen does in 15.
Nuno could be the man to get Wood back to his frightening best, and if so, West Ham could be in for a cracking deal.
