West Ham decide on mega-money Jarrod Bowen sale as ‘huge’ transfer blitz ready

West Ham have decided on Jarrod Bowen’s future at the London Stadium amid growing interest in the winger.

The Hammers have officially avoided relegation from the Premier League this weekend after Ipswich Town’s loss to Wolves confirmed they will be going down.

However, there is no escaping from the fact that it has been another underwhelming campaign for West Ham, who sit just above the relegation zone in 17th.

Graham Potter’s side suffered their 16th defeat of the season on Saturday (26 April) in a 3-2 loss against Brighton that added to the fans’ misery.

The poor season they are having has led to concerns among supporters about the long-term future of their best players, in particular Bowen.

Bowen’s sale could fund huge transfer blitz

The 24-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Newcastle United last summer, and after breaking into the England setup, there’s no doubt that moving to a team pushing at the top of the Premier League would benefit his personal career.

Selling the West Ham captain is something that would also help the Hammers as a big-money sale would help fund an entire team rebuild.

That is something that Potter needs to do right now in a bid to get the team back on track, especially since the squad he is working with was largely created by Julen Lopetegui.

However, Bowen still has five years left on his deal, but there is an £85million buy-option for any side wanting to try and buy him.

West Ham have a plan for Bowen

West Ham are expected to be busy during the summer transfer window as Lucas Paqueta is set to depart the Hammers, which will be a blow to their creative options.

Mohammed Kudus is another player who could be moved on during the summer transfer window, as he has an exclusive release clause for the Saudi Pro League to tap into.

Losing those players and Bowen would be a huge problem, but according to the Sunday Mirror [p64, 27 April] West Ham are considering Bowen to be “untouchable” this summer.

It’s likely music to the ears of West Ham fans, as being able to retain Bowen will allow Potter to build the team around him and utilise his strengths even more.
