Jesse Lingard ‘Minded’ to fight for place at Manchester United in blow to West Ham
A report in The Athletic about transfers has provided a short update on Jesse Lingard’s situation, amid ongoing interest from West Ham.
They claim that the 28-year-old is back in training with Manchester United and that David Moyes “wanted to bring Lingard to West Ham”. However, the Red Devils have apparently slapped a £30million price tag on Lingard.
Some people at Old Trafford even want to give the England international a new contract to “protect his transfer value”. The report then states that Lingard himself is “minded to stay at Old Trafford and fight for his place”.

Lingard not joining West Ham?
This doesn’t look good for the Hammers, who want to bring the 28-year-old back to the London Stadium after his stellar second half of the season [Sky Sports].
However, this latest report suggests that the attacking midfielder wants to stay at Manchester United, which seems like a crazy decision.
He wasn’t getting any game time last season, and now the Red Devils have added Jadon Sancho, so how is he going to get any more?
It seems as if Lingard used West Ham to get back into the England side and perhaps kickstart his Manchester United career, which is a shame.

There is time for him to change his mind and realise that a move to the London Stadium makes perfect sense, but at the moment, it looks as if he will be staying at Old Trafford, which makes literally no sense to us.
He thrived under Moyes and was arguably the star man while he was with the Hammers, so why wouldn’t he want that again?
Hopefully, he decides he does, but West Ham can’t wait around forever and should start looking at other targets.
