West Ham could land Sevilla striker Youssef En Nesyri at reduced price

West Ham have a golden opportunity to sign Sevilla striker Youssef En Nesyri this summer at a reduced price, according to Mundo Deportivo [14 June].

The Spanish newspaper on their website has reported that the La Liga giants are willing to sell him this summer, after a disappointing 2021-22 campaign.

The Hammers made an offer in the region of £25 million for the striker in the previous summer transfer window, but it was rejected.

The striker struggled with injuries last season (2021-22), suffered from Covid issues and struggled to maintain the form that he showed in his previous season.

He was at the peak of his form in the 2020-21 season when he managed 24 goals in all competitions. However, his status at the club has dramatically fallen and the club would be open to listening to offers.

Should the Hammers move for him?

It is an open secret that David Moyes needs to sign a striker this summer. At the same time, he has other priorities as well.

The Hammers have been linked with a host of strikers thus far, but En Nesyri seems to have moved out of the picture after a poor campaign.

He did score a couple of goals on international duty, but it has not changed Sevilla’s stance at the moment.

At 25, the Moroccan international clearly has age on his side to recapture his lost form. The question is will the Hammers take a gamble on him?

The fact that he could be available at a cut-price deal, should interest Moyes. It won’t be fair to judge him based on one season, where there were external factors that prevented his progress.

En Nesyri has 48 caps for his country, and he could be a smart addition if Moyes is willing to take a gamble.
