West Ham continue negotiations for Aaron Wan-Bissaka as Fabrizio Romano drops update

West Ham are continuing to negotiate a deal for Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to Fabrizio Romano.

There is an expectation that a deal for the defender can be agreed this week (via Sean Whetstone, 6 August).

And Romano has provided an update while speaking exclusively to Give Me Sport (7 August).

The Italian journalist said, “They signed three players, so I think West Ham will still be active.

“But as of now, they are still negotiating, especially in the case of Wan-Bissaka, it’s an important one for them.”

West Ham to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United?

It appears that the club are keen to bring Wan-Bissaka to the London Stadium.

Romano has described this as an “important” bit of business for the Hammers, which indicates that they are prioritising these transfer negotiations.

Wan-Bissaka is one of the best defensive right-backs in the Premier League and would certainly be a useful addition to Julen Lopetegui’s side.

It has been a busy week for the club with Crysencio Summerville, Niclas Füllkrug and Guido Rodríguez all arriving in recent days.

Therefore, if the Hammers can agree a deal for Wan-Bissaka too, that would cap off a very exciting week at the London Stadium.

The club’s defence was all over the place at times last season, with only the three relegated teams conceding more times than the Hammers in the Premier League.

Therefore, signing a player of Wan-Bissaka’s profile makes sense, and Lopetegui will hope a deal is finalised soon.

In other West Ham news, Tim Steidten could take a transfer risk with a double signing mooted.
