West Ham close to completing Nikola Vlasic transfer

West Ham are nearing the £25.7million signing of 23-year-old CSKA Moscow attacker Nikola Vlasic, according to the Guardian.

It is claimed that David Moyes has “driven the pursuit” of the 23-year-old Croatia international and that there will be £6.9million add-ons included in the deal.

UEFA and FIFA accredited journalist Danny Armstrong, who is based in Russia, has reported via his personal Twitter profile that the ex-Everton forward is “disinterested” in playing for CSKA while Irons interest ensues, while he has reportedly told the Russian giants to accept a bid.

Close to completion

This is news that has been reported by various sources now, so it certainly looks like one that West Ham fans can start to get excited about.

Of course, this doesn’t mean it will definitely be completed – supporters know by now not to get too giddy until news is officially confirmed by the club.

There will be renewed hope after Kurt Zouma was finally announced as an Irons player last night as the club finally got a deal for an outfielder over the line.

After a tough summer of speculation without substance, it looks like the club are ramping up their interest in players as they look to bloat out their squad ahead of their Europa League campaign that begins next month.

Vlasic has 26 caps for Croatia and was named the Russian Premier League Footballer of the Year in 2020, so his stock is certainly high.

It remains to be seen, however, if Jesse Lingard will join him at the London Stadium, if indeed a move does get pushed through before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

In other West Ham news, David Moyes is set for Sunday player talks over a £15m+ move for this attacker.
