West Ham are in the hunt to sign Celta Vigo’s Santi Mina

West Ham are one of three clubs interested in Celta Vigo forward Santi Mina, according to Fichajes.

The Spanish side value him at €15million [£12.8million], with Monaco and Lazio also said to be interested in the 25-year-old.

The striker has scored 12 goals this season, including two against Barcelona last Saturday in a win that stunned the Catalans.

West Ham are chasing a striker this summer after failing to replace Sebastien Haller in January.

The right fit?

Mina has had a good season in front of goal but his career history suggests he is not exactly a reliable goalscorer.

He has never managed more than 12 goals in a league campaign but there are signs he is progressing as a forward.

It would be up to David Moyes to aid his development further, but if he does not hit the ground running things could be difficult for the Spaniard.

Pablo Fornals initially struggled after arriving from Spain but has found his feet under Moyes.

Because of that, we are confident Mina could be a success at the London Stadium.

He is a completely different player to Michail Antonio, basing his game on technical ability rather than physicality, so would give us something different in attack.

However, if the Irons are to push for Europe once again we feel a natural goalscorer ought to be signed.

Tammy Abraham on loan or Danny Ings would be perfect for that task, and could be complemented by the likes of Mina and Antonio.
