West Ham ‘all or nothing’ stance emerges in new Evan Ferguson transfer update

West Ham United are at an “all or nothing” stage with their bid to sign Brighton’s Evan Ferguson, according to Mail Plus.

The newspaper reported via its website [1 February] that Graham Potter is keen on bringing the striker to the London Stadium, whether that be on a permanent deal, straight loan, or loan with an option to buy.

It is understood that should a last-gasp move for the 20-year-old fall through before 3 February, the Hammers will not attempt to panic-buy a striker for the second half of the campaign.

With 17 goals in his first 79 first-team appearances at the Amex Stadium, it is no wonder why Potter is so keen on bringing his former player to East London before the window slams shut.

However, with just one goal and two starts in the Premier League this season, there are some concerns over how reliable the striker could be if he were to seal his move to the London Stadium.

Potter would have wanted more time to work with the squad and assess which areas of the squad need addressing right now, but there are just hours before the transfer deadline passes.

Jarrod Bowen’s return will be an incredible boost for the Irons, but with Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug both unavailable, Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus have deputised through the middle.

A plethora of names have been linked with the Hammers since the window opened, such as Brian Brobbey and Andre Silva, but there has been absolutely no movement yet.

A new defender should also be a priority for the second half of the campaign, but as time continues to tick away, the Hammers are running out of time to get deals done in East London.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers want a deadline-busting deal for a Serie A defender, who could be sold for £12.5million.
