West Ham agree £10.1m deal for Thilo Kehrer, hope to register him for UEFA Conference League game on Thursday
West Ham have agreed a £10.1m deal for Germany international Thilo Kehrer and are hopeful of getting a deal done in time for Thursday’s European clash.
The Hammers have advanced talks with Paris Saint-Germain and had a bid accepted for the 25-year-old, with the player travelling in to London for a medical today according to ExWHUemployee.
Now Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth is reporting that the club are hopeful of completing the deal in time for Kehrer to be able to play in Thursday’s UEFA Conference League qualifier against Viborg.
PSG are said to have wanted around £16m to sell the defender, who had entered the final year of his contract in Paris, but West Ham have negotiated them down and secured a brilliant deal.
Excellent news
With all the defensive problems that West Ham have got currently, having Kehrer available to make his debut on Thursday would be a huge boost for David Moyes.
Currently the only fit centre-back at the club is Kurt Zouma, with Craig Dawson and Angelo Ogbonna not match fit and Nayef Aguerd out until the World Cup with an ankle problem picked up in pre-season.

Being able to bring Kehrer into the team on such short notice would be a great help to the team, and would also give him a small head start in developing a relationship with the team on the pitch.
The Premier League game against Brighton is sure to be a much tougher affair, but there’s nothing like game time to get you accustomed to what the team wants and needs and that will be a great boost.
It will also help Kehrer to get some minutes and match sharpness under his belt too, so it seems as though everyone is a winner in this deal in east London should it get done in time.
