Watch as West Ham midfielder Felipe Anderson arrives in Rome for Lazio medical

West Ham midfielder Felipe Anderson has been spotted arriving in Italy ahead of undergoing medical checks at a private clinic, according to Kaveh Solhekol.

As shown in a video clip on the Football Daily Twitter account, the Sky Sports journalist reported that Anderson, 28, is on the verge of re-signing for Lazio for £2.5million.

Solhekol said: “He has arrived here in Roma today (Tuesday).

“He’s having a medical at a private clinic, which is about a 10-minute walk away from where I am.

“Once that medical is done he will sign for Lazio in a deal that’s worth around €3million (£2.5million).”

Deal all but done

Anderson’s spell at West Ham has been mixed – but it’s been more bad than good.

We all thought we were getting a world-beater when Manuel Pellegrini signed the one-time Brazil international for a club-record fee worth £36million [BBC Sport].

And while his tackling stats impressed for an attack-minded player and he also chipped in with the odd goal and assist, he will overall go down as one of the most underwhelming players we’ve ever seen in East London.

West Ham

Anderson will be leaving West Ham having made 73 appearances in all competitions, in which he scored 12 goals and supplied 13 assists.

His goal and assist numbers aren’t bad but we just never got the player we thought we were getting back in 2018 when he became our new record signing.

Last season, he was loaned out to Porto and made just 10 appearances in all competitions.

David Moyes never seem as though he was a fan of the Brazilian and that stint in Portugal did absolutely nothing to chance the Scot’s mind.

We trust Moyes and we don’t trust Anderson so it’s simple to be on board with the club’s decision to get rid of him.

We just wish it was for more money because the club has flushed a helluva lot of it down the drain on the Brazilian midfielder.

In other West Ham news, the Irons are close to hiring this ex-Norwich player in a huge behind-the-scenes move.
