Wages update emerges as West Ham United and Nottingham locked in Vitao transfer race

Nottingham Forest have offered more wages than West Ham to Internacional defender Vitao, according to Revista Colorada.

The Brazilian news outlet reported on 10 June that Forest are now the favourites to secure the 24-year-old’s signing.

Despite an offer being made by the Hammers, the Brazilian centre-back is likelier to move to the City Ground this summer.

Should West Ham make a better offer to Vitao?

If money is the primary factor for Vitao, it may not be in the Hammers’ best interest to offer him more.

They should prioritise players who are genuinely interested in their project and see the club as a platform for growth and success.

If Vitao is primarily driven by financial gain, he might not be fully committed to the team’s objectives and could be more likely to leave for a higher offer in the future.

However, if Julen Lopetegui believes the Brazilian is a crucial piece in the jigsaw to take the team to the next level and the player is genuinely interested in joining, then it could be worth considering an improved offer.

Ultimately, the decision should be based on a balance of the player’s potential contribution to the team’s success and their commitment to the club’s vision, rather than solely on financial incentives.
