Vladimir Coufal lined up for West Ham exit within weeks
Vladimir Coufal could leave West Ham United in the January transfer window if he does not sign a contract extension, according to The Athletic.
The outlet reported via their website on 29 November that European clubs have enquired about the right-back’s availability ahead of January, although the Irons hope to initiate contract negotiations in the coming weeks.
He is in the final year of his contract at the London Stadium and the Hammers not having an option to extend it by another year like others means his future is in doubt.
Coufal lined up for West Ham exit within weeks
Coufal, 32, joined West Ham from Slavia Prague in 2020 and has since established himself as a fan favourite in East London.
Although Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s arrival in the summer has seen the Czechia international’s playing time reduce under Julen Lopetegui this season, there is no doubt that he can still contribute to the team when needed.
It will, therefore, be sad to see the full-back leave if it comes to it in January, with both parties only having weeks to thrash out a fresh deal.
Tim Steidten, though, might have an idea in mind to replace Coufal, with Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peter on his radar [Darren Witcoop via Sunday Mirror].

Walker-Peters is in the final year of his contract with the Saints and could leave for nothing at the end of the season, making him an interesting option for the Hammers, who could bring him in as an understudy to Wan-Bissaka.
It is evident that the Premier League club are planning for life beyond Coufal, with Brighton’s Tariq Lamptey also of interest to Julen Lopetegui [CaughtOffside].
