Valentin Castellanos can join West Ham in January as transfer demands emerge
West Ham United may look to bolster their attack with Lazio striker Valentin Castellanos in the winter transfer window.
The Hammers are struggling in the relegation zone right now, and Nuno Espirito Santo will undoubtedly hope the board will back him in the coming months.
Niclas Fullkrug has struggled at the London Stadium, and his unreliability up front may force the Irons to look for a new number nine soon.
Graham Potter wanted Castellanos in the summer, and it looks like despite the English manager’s departure, the forward is still on the East London outfit’s radar.

Lazio will let West Ham target Valentin Castellanos to leave for £30m
Castellanos could be sold by Lazio in January to fund other transfers, according to La Lazio Siamo Noi.
The news outlet reports on 15 October via La Repubblica that the Argentina international’s situation is being monitored at the London Stadium.
It’s been claimed that the Serie A outfit are willing to do a deal for the 27-year-old amid interest from the Irons for an offer of around £30million.
With the East London outfit struggling at the moment, the hierarchy should look to make a significant investment in the squad if they hope to avoid relegation, and Castellanos could possibly be a decent option to go for.

Jarrod Bowen has carried the attacking burden at the London Stadium in recent months, and the England international arguably needs more support up front.
The Hammers are staring down a dark path right now, and the fans rightfully fear a return to the Championship due to the direction of the club under the current owners.
Callum Wilson transfer damning at London Stadium
Callum Wilson hasn’t done anything special at the London Stadium since joining on a free transfer in the summer.
The former Newcastle United star didn’t do much in his final few months with the Magpies, but West Ham still decided to go for him.
Competition | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Serie A | 6 | 2 | 3 |
Instead of signing a proven goalscorer, the Hammers’ board decided to get a striker who scored zero Premier League goals last season.
While adding Wilson’s experience as a third or fourth-choice striker would have made sense, the fact that he’s the backup to an injury-stricken Fullkrug shows the lack of ambition in E20.
