Update on West Ham approach to sign Promise David as contract terms agreed
West Ham will be looking to strengthen their squad in January, particularly in attacking areas.
Niclas Fullkrug is expected to depart the London Stadium when the transfer window reopens and end what has been a nightmare spell with the Hammers.
While Callum Wilson has found some form in recent weeks, the Englishman has a track record of injury problems that Nuno Espirito Santo will be wary of.
Therefore, it is vital that West Ham bring in a backup option to Wilson, or someone to challenge the former Newcastle United man for his starting spot.

West Ham haven’t made enquiry for Promise David
Last week, West Ham were linked with Royale Union Saint-Gilloise striker Promise David, with a potential January move rumoured to be on the cards.
However, according to The Athletic, the Hammers have not made an official enquiry for David, despite the reports.
The Canadian forward signed a new deal with Union Saint-Gilloise back in June, which runs until the summer of 2029, and it does not include a release clause.

| Goals | 6 |
| Assists | 0 |
As a result, the Belgian outfit are confident that they will be able to keep hold of David, and do not see him departing in the January window.

West Ham exploring alternative striker options
West Ham are still expected to back Nuno in the new year, with the Hammers still only above the Premier League relegation zone on goal difference.
The former Nottingham Forest and Tottenham boss has improved the situation since his arrival at the London Stadium, but reinforcements are still needed in January.
Federico Chiesa and Joshua Zirkzee have both been linked with West Ham in recent weeks, as they look to improve their depth in attacking areas.
Chiesa is out of favour at Liverpool under Arne Slot, and could be searching for a move away from Anfield when the window reopens in order to rediscover his best form.
However, it may be a different story regarding Zirkzee, who has found himself back in the Manchester United starting lineup after an injury to first-choice centre-forward Benjamin Sesko.
The Dutchman had looked certain to depart in January, but his renewed importance at Old Trafford could prevent a move away.
