Tyler Morton bid submitted as West Ham line up midfielder sales
Tyler Morton has been heavily linked with a move to West Ham over the past month.
The Liverpool academy graduate has struggled to make his breakthrough at the Premier League champions despite his potential.
This summer, the midfielder was part of the England squad that won the Under 21s European Championships.
As a result, West Ham are looking to move in for Morton to add to their midfield options for the upcoming season.
Now, the transfer saga has developed further as other clubs join in on the pursuit.

Lyon table bid for Morton amid West Ham interest
As well as West Ham, Morton has interest from multiple clubs, including Lyon.
According to The Athletic (29 July), the Ligue 1 side have tabled a bid for the Liverpool youngster, with the Merseyside club looking for £10 million+ for the 22-year-old.
- Morton is a Liverpool academy graduate
- The midfielder has played 14 times for the Reds’ first-team
- Morton was named EFL Young Player of the Month in December 2023 while on loan at Hull
On top of this, Lyon, Braga, Ajax, Strasbourg, and Ipswich Town are also monitoring the situation as the saga heats up.
West Ham remain in the race for Morton. However, the report states that Potter is looking to sell some of their current midfield options first before making a move.

Morton would be a sensible buy for Potter
For around £10m, there are few better options compared to Morton in the transfer market.
The 22-year-old has high potential, and his English nationality will help with registration rules.
The question will be whether Morton can make the step up to Premier League football after only making two appearances in the top-flight to date.
Tyler Morton’s loan spells | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Blackburn Rovers | 46 | 0 | 4 |
Hull City | 41 | 3 | 5 |
However, the midfielder has had successful loan spells at both Blackburn Rovers and Hull City in the Championship and should at least be a solid squad option.
Hopefully, Potter will soon look to make an official move before more clubs place bids in for Morton.
