Trippier decides on West Ham transfer after what Eddie Howe told him at Newcastle

Kieran Trippier doesn’t want to join West Ham despite losing the captaincy at Newcastle United, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper reported on 23 August (back page) that the England international is open to a new challenge away from St James’ Park.

Eddie Howe has told him that he needs him as part of his squad but the 33-year-old was disappointed to lose the armband.

While the Hammers admire the former Tottenham star, the player does not want to move to London.

West Ham rejected by Kieran Trippier

The Irons have had a busy transfer window and that doesn’t look to be stopping any time soon with interest in the Englishman.

Julen Lopetegui has made a point of adding to his defence after a season of conceding too many goals last time out under David Moyes.

This has seen Aaron Wan-Bissaka come in at right back to provide competition for Vladimir Coufal but now they also want Trippier.

The ex-Atletico Madrid man would certainly add experience to the squad at the London Stadium but his game time would ultimately be limited.

The Hammers have to prioritise the game time of their signing from Manchester United to get the most out of him after joining this summer.

With that being said, a move for Trippier wouldn’t make much sense for any party with his age not being an attractive proposition for Tim Steidten and Co.

It appears that he doesn’t want a move to East London which appears to be the right move for all.
