Trevor Sinclair raves about West Ham United move for Gianluca Scamacca live on talkSPORT
Trevor Sinclair has branded West Ham United’s move for Gianluca Scamacca “superb” as the Hammers close in on the 23-year-old Sassuolo striker.
It had been suggested by The Daily Star in their print edition [23 July, pg. 49], that an announcement could be close for the Irons to seal a deal for the Italy striker.
The move for Scamacca has drawn glowing praise from former West Ham winger Sinclair.
Talking on talkSPORT, in a clip posted on their Twitter, on Sunday 24 July, Sinclair said: “Superb.
“Almost one in two. Big lad as well. Young, he’s only 23 years old.
“If he does do really well and he’s someone that maybe wants to move clubs you could look to get back on that investment as well.
“It all adds up and makes sense.”
Ideal striker
Scamacca could really thrive under the stewardship of David Moyes and suit the system that West Ham like to play.
His physicality and presence will make him an ideal option for Jarrod Bowen to play off, much like the England international did with Michail Antonio in the 2021/22 season.
Furthermore, the chances that the likes of Bowen and Said Benrahma will provide for Scamacca could see the Italy international be prolific in an Irons shirt.

Moyes will be absolutely delighted to finally have another forward option at his disposal for the upcoming season, assuming there are no late hitches, after Michail Antonio was heavily overplayed towards the back end of last term.
With West Ham playing in Europe the games will come thick and fast again and being able to rotate will be essential to ensure players remain fresh throughout the whole campaign.
Furthermore, the Hammers have been linked with a move for Eintracht Frankfurt wing-back Filip Kostic.
If the Serbian international did make the move to the London Stadium, he should also provide Scamacca with plenty of opportunities in front of goal from wider areas.
