Transfer cash hits rock bottom in brand new West Ham United reveal from sources
West Ham United have no money to spend in the January transfer window to strengthen their squad, according to a new report from Claret and Hugh.
The Hammers spent around £170m in the summer signing eight first-team players to boost the squad, as David Moyes looked to build upon a Europa League semi-final place and qualifying for Europe last season.
But so far it’s not gone to plan with the side losing nine of 15 Premier League games so far and sitting just one point above the relegation zone, and now it seems as though the money has run dry ahead of the winter transfer window.

“West Ham have no money to spend in strengthening the squad when the January window opens,” they wrote (1 December).
“But the reality is that the board will – as has been explained by sources to ClaretandHugh on several occasions – be relying on the manager to ensure that the players he brought in during the summer are capable of capable of digging us out of this situation.
“The very best he can hope for in the window is maybe a couple of loans, should he remain in place with the club having made it clear results and performances must improve.”
Trouble
It seems as if trouble is brewing at the London Stadium, but it’s not really a surprise that the club is short of money after the type of spending they allowed in the summer.
Moyes went big bringing in the likes of Lucas Paqueta, Gianluca Scamacca, Maxwel Cornet and Nayef Aguerd, but the team has gone backwards and now he’s in big trouble.

He can’t rely on having more and more money to spend in each window if the current signings aren’t performing, and he now can’t use not being backed by the board as an excuse because he absolutely was.
There is huge room for improvement with the current squad and with the current crop of players, and there is so much quality in the side that this team should be absolutely nowhere near the bottom of the table.
Huge improvements are now needed on the pitch, and Moyes is going to have to use all his years of experience and coaching to turn things around because the board are not going to be buying him out of this hole.
