Tottenham win race to sign West Ham attacker, deal set for completion
Tottenham are set to sign West Ham wonderkid Kyran Thompson, according to The Secret Scout.
The youth football expert, who regularly breaks transfer news regarding the best young footballers in the UK, reported via X on Friday (19 June) that the attacking midfielder is set to swap East London for North London.
On 26 May, The Secret Scout reported that Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United had been showing an interest.
Tottenham sign talented West Ham wonderkid ahead of Arsenal
There’s no denying that this is a blow for West Ham.
Just the fact that the big-six clubs had all been watching Thompson suggests that the teenager is certainly a talent to keep an eye on.
He’d been with the Irons since the age of nine but is now bidding farewell to Stratford before hitting his 16th birthday.
West Ham would have been powerless to stop the move from happening because players of Thompson’s age are unable to sign professional contracts that tie them down to clubs.
However, the Hammers could be due a compensation fee to cover the money they’ve spent on developing him up until this point.

Not many players make the move from the Hammers to Spurs, or vice versa, so it’s a bit of a shock to see Thompson signing for the Lilywhites.
However, Spurs are potentially closer to home for him than the other teams that were interested and for a player of his age, that counts for a lot.
It’ll be interesting to see how Thompson develops in the coming years.
In other West Ham news, the Irons have the perfect chance to sign this Everton star after the latest drama at Goodison Park.
