Tosin Adarabioyo ‘surprised’ at West Ham United development amid Chelsea interest
Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo is said to be ‘surprised’ to learn West Ham United are not currently pursuing him, according to HITC.
The report on 8 May suggests representatives of the 26-year-old – who is being courted by Chelsea and Newcastle United among others – contacted West Ham to confirm their interest, only to find they were not actively pursuing Adarabioyo.
New manager Julen Lopetegui is likely to be on the hunt for defensive reinforcements as the club look set to bid for Davinson Sanchez from Galatasaray, amid potential interest in Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd.
Adarabioyo will be available as a free agent this summer, after informing Fulham he will not extend his contract at Craven Cottage.
Which central defenders will be at West Ham next season?
Under outgoing manager David Moyes, Zouma and Konstantinos Mavropanos have often been the chosen central defensive partnership.
However, criticism has been cast over Zouma’s performances this season as captain, whilst Aguerd has struggled with injuries, and veteran, long-serving defender Angelo Ogbonna is uncertain over his future despite his reported desire to stay.

Former Tottenham defender Sanchez potentially returning to London would be a move that suits all parties, with Galatasaray set to double their investment within a year.
The Hammers have also been credited with interest in young Anderlecht centre-half Zeno Debast, with Lopetegui sure to have his own dossier on hopeful targets.
In other West Ham news, Lopetegui is keen on a reunion with a La Liga striker.
