Todibo exit: Euro club chief wants West Ham ace who’s ‘perfect profile’ on loan
West Ham United ace Jean Clair-Todibo is once again the “favourite” defensive target for Juventus technical director Cristiano Giuntoli, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Italian newspaper reported via their website (29 January) that despite the injury that the Frenchman is nursing at the moment, he is still high on the Old Lady’s shortlist this winter to add the centre-back on loan.
The report does, however, add that a deal would not be “very simple” as the former Barcelona man is technically still a Nice player until the end of the 2024/25 season, with the Hammers having an obligation to buy.
But, if all parties agreed to a move, it could be sanctioned before the 3 February deadline, especially since head coach Thiago Motta thought of him as having the “perfect profile” for his team.
West Ham United cannot allow Jean Clair-Todibo to exit
There has been a lot of talk about Todibo leaving the London Stadium this month but, in truth, this one feels like an absolutely non-starter, not least because of how complicated the deal is.
The Hammers are obligated to make the transfer permanent in the summer after they beat Juve to the Frenchman’s signature in the summer transfer window.
But moreover, they only three senior centre-backs on their books and if anything you would assume they would only add another, not sanction one exiting.

Most of the noise about a deal happening appears to be coming from the Juve side, with talk from the Irons consistently being that he will not leaving before the 3 February deadline.
You can never say never when it comes to football, especially in a transfer window, but you can file this one firmly in the massively unlikely box. The focus for the remaining days is likely to be on strengthening Graham Potter’s ranks, not depleting them.
In other West Ham news, Daniel Levy is in talks for Tottenham to blow the Hammers out of the water for this player.
