Tim Steidten urged for quick talks as West Ham United ready bids for transfer again

West Ham United are set to shift their focus to Toulouse defender Logan Costa and RB Salzburg star Oumar Solet before the 30 August deadline, according to GiveMeSport.

The outlet reported on 5 August that the Hammers want defensive reinforcements, having concluded that a deal for Jean Clair-Todibo would be hard to pull off.

West Ham are now “primed” to make moves for both Costa and Solet as Tim Steidten has been urged into “speedy” negotiations.

Logan Costa or Oumar Solet to West Ham United makes sense

It was evident upon the commencement of last season that West Ham needed defensive reinforcement if they wanted to improve their Premier League standing this season.

The club had one of the worst defensive records in the league with just the three relegated teams ending up lower.

Not only does this show how much the addition of Max Kilman was needed but it also shows that further reinforcement is required so that the club don’t meet the same fate again during the 2024/25 campaign.

Todibo was the most-linked defender with the club as they even had a deal agreed with Nice which was subsequently rejected by the Frenchman.

Whilst Solet and Costa may not have the same skillset or top-five league experience that Todibo does, the duo are still young and will have plenty of room to develop, especially if Kilman takes them under his wing.

No fees have yet been mentioned but one or perhaps even two of the Hammers’ defenders will likely have to be sold to fund an arrival so, only time will tell what the future has planned for West Ham.
