Tim Steidten mooted to jet out for talks with Lucas Paqueta amid West Ham United speculation
Tim Steidten could travel to Rio de Janeiro to hold talks with West Ham United star Lucas Paqueta, according to Raisa Simplicio.
The GOAL Brazil reporter has suggested via X (10 July) that the Hammers’ sporting director could soon meet with the 26-year-old in Brazil.
The attacking midfielder is currently on holiday in Rio but Steidten has been mooted to hold talks to “find out more about how he is doing”.
Tim Steidten to hold West Ham talks with Lucas Paqueta
Talks over a potential return to Flamengo have been mooted in recent weeks with Paqueta now looking likely to stay at the London Stadium.
The 26-year-old is now on holiday after Brazil were knocked out of the Copa America on penalties by Uruguay on Sunday (7 July).
With the FA charges that are currently hanging over him, it remains unclear whether the Hammers star will feature in the Premier League next season.
New head coach, Julen Lopetegui will be hopeful that the attacker will be available, such is his influence on the side.
A move away could have made sense with a potential ban incoming for Paqueta which would see him out for a prolonged period.
Based on previous bans for similar breaches, the Brazilian could be missing for anywhere between six and 12 months, if not longer.
Steidten looks set to be jetting off to Brazil to hold talks with the 26-year-old which could help the West Ham star look to the future with positivity.
No one is quite sure about his future at the London Stadium but it appears to be getting sorted soon.
In other West Ham news, the club have tabled a bid for a Premier League striker.
