Tim Steidten determined for West Ham United to sign Wesley Gassova as fee emerges
Tim Steidten remains intent on signing Corinthians forward Wesley Gassova after the West Ham chief jetted out to Brazil earlier this summer, according to the Sunday Mirror.
The outlet has reported (14 July, page 77) that the Hammers’ technical director is “determined” to land the 19-year-old’s signature.
The German has flown out to Brazil this summer amid interest from top sides like Chelsea, Bayer Leverkusen and Atletico Madrid, whose market value is reported to be £26 million.
The Corinthians star is “one of the hottest talents” coming out of South America and is said to be available for a “very reasonable price” this summer.
West Ham still want Wesley Gassova
The Hammers have already moved quickly in the summer transfer window with Steidten taking the reigns after David Moyes departed.
This has seen Luis Guilherme be brought in from Palmerias and now it appears that another Brazilian talent could be signed.
Wesley is a winger who brings electric pace and trickery which could make him a useful asset in the Premier League next season.
Steidten has been involved in looking to complete signings from Brazil with Fabricio Bruno strongly linked earlier in the transfer window.
It remains unclear how much influence that Julen Lopetegui has on these transfers but there is no doubt they could prove to be positive members of his squad.

The Spaniard has already brought in his former captain, Max Kilman, from Wolves which seems to be a move influenced by the head coach.
The Hammers are clearly intent on bringing in the young Brazilian this summer in yet another exciting transfer for supporters to look forward to.
In other West Ham news, the club have made contact to sign a Salzburg star whose exit is 100% certain.
