Tim Steidten arranges defender to arrive at West Ham United – ExWHUemployee
West Ham United have taken Ghanaian defender Abdul Rashid Adam on trial for the next few weeks, according to ExWHUEmployee.
The insider reported via The West Ham Way’s Patreon (Thursday, 24 October) that Tim Steidten brought the 18-year-old to East London this week to run the rule over him.
Adam is contracted to Ghanaian second-division club Benab FC and has attracted interest from other clubs in Europe.
West Ham, meanwhile, have an opportunity to take a closer look at the player in their Under-18s as they ponder whether or not to sign him permanently, with several talented defenders already in their youth setup.
Who is Abdul Rashid Adam, the player on trial at West Ham United?
As Benab play in the second tier of the Ghanaian football league system, there is not much information available about Adam.
However, going by what Owuraku Ampofo, a journalist for Ghanaian outlet 3Sports, has said on X, the teenager is highly rated in his country.
Ampofo described the Hammers trialist as a left-back, who is also comfortable operating as a left-sided centre-back. The reporter also waxed lyrical about the player’s passing ability and aggressiveness in duels.

With ExWHUEmployee reporting interest from other clubs in Europe and the Ghanaian journalist rating Adam highly, this appears to be a great move from Steidten.
The Hammers have been trying to strengthen their academy recently, recently promoting Kevin Keen from Under-18s Lead Coach to Lead Professional Development Phase Coach.
Seeing talented players come through the youth ranks and play for the senior team is satisfying for any fan and it remains to be seen if Adam can join that mix.
