Thilo Kehrer and Pablo Fornals want to leave West Ham United, David Moyes open to exits
Thilo Kehrer and Pablo Fornals both want to return to their respective homelands during the January transfer window with David Moyes open to letting them leave West Ham.
Kehrer and Fornals have both found themselves out of the picture at the London Stadium this season, with the Spanish midfielder making just two Premier League starts and Kehrer not starting at all so far.
And according to the editor of Claret & Hugh (27 December), both players want to leave West Ham in the January window but while Moyes is open to letting Kehrer return to Germany it’s believed Fornals will have to wait until the summer to return to Spain.
“Hammer Thilo Kehrer wants out of West Ham to return to Germany this winter with David Moyes unlikely to stand in his way,” they wrote.
“Meanwhile Pablo Fornals who had a one year contract extension activated also wants out to return to Spain, but his move is likely to need to wait until the summer.”
Sensible
Defensively West Ham are much stronger than they have been in recent seasons, and that means that Kehrer has found regular game time hard to come by.
Vladimir Coufal is the first-choice right-back and Ben Johnson is seemingly ahead of Kehrer as the understudy, while in the middle all of Kurt Zouma, Nayef Aguerd, Angelo Ogbonna and Dinos Mavropanos are ahead of him.

Replacing him will be necessary in the summer, especially if Johnson’s future isn’t secured with a new contract but an acceptable offer could arrive for the German which would mean it makes sense to let him go.
As for Fornals though our attacking options are not quite as filled with depth, and that means we’re likely to need him to stick around.
Maxwel Cornet and Danny Ings are surely far more likely to head out of the exit door should opportunities come, which means Fornals will be needed even more and he’ll just have to wait it out.
In other West Ham news, big-money star has “demanded to leave” in January.
