Thierry Henry shares ‘brilliant’ Dominic Solanke view amid West Ham United transfer development
Thierry Henry has been impressed by the way Bournemouth star Dominic Solanke is playing this season amid links to West Ham.
Speaking on Amazon Prime during the Hammers’ 2-0 victory over Arsenal on Thursday (28 December, via the Metro), the pundit said what the 26-year-old has been doing for the Cherries has been “brilliant” after he previously struggled for form.
It comes after the Sunday People reported in its print edition on 19 November that the Irons are set to revive their interest in the English forward after having a £40million bid rejected for him over the summer.

Asked to name a player who has impressed him in the Premier League this season, Henry said: “Dominic Solanke, the way he is playing at Bournemouth. Not only him, the team is doing extremely well, but we have been waiting for him to be that player.
“I guess it was a bit too much when he was younger. But what he is doing right now is brilliant. I am happy for him because he did struggle for a little bit. Now he is looking good.”
Get it done
This is a deal that West Ham should absolutely be looking to get done in January as Solanke is in exceptional form in the Premier League this season.
The forward has scored 12 goals in 18 league matches this season, with eight of those strikes coming in his past seven outings for Bournemouth, helping them climb away from the danger zone.
He could be the perfect man to lead the line for David Moyes due to his strong physical presence and ability to run in behind and cause problems for defences.

The one-cap England international is probably going to be the subject of interest from other Premier League sides in the transfer window, though, as a number of clubs could be looking to strengthen their forward line.
It’s time for us to make our interest clear again as Solanke is finally proving that he could be a top striker at this level after years of being dubbed as a promising talent.
In other West Ham news, Dean Saunders has mentioned the Hammers as he urged a Premier League player to force a move in January.
