Tammy Abraham to West Ham United transfer on cards with bid made as bonus update emerges
West Ham have made an offer of €20million for Tammy Abraham [£16.9m] and news is expected “soon” on a move from Roma, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The Italian outlet reported on their website on 26 August that the former Chelsea striker wants the return to London, but the three parties still need to work out a final agreement between them.
The Serie A side want €25million in total [£21.15m] and are hoping they can get the few extra million by agreeing bonus clauses.
Niclas Fullkrug has already come in from Borussia Dortmund this summer, but the club are looking to offload Danny Ings [talkSPORT, 13 August] and are also open to letting Michail Antonio leave before the deadline [The Times, 26 August].
West Ham want ex-Chelsea striker after Niclas Fullkrug
Tim Steidten has probably surpassed the expectations of most fans for the summer but in the final days of a transfer window virtually anything can happen.
Few would have expected the German to get the Jean-Clair Todibo deal over the line after Max Kilman’s signing but he swooped for a second defender under Juventus’ noses.
And landing a sought-after free agent midfielder in Guido Rodriguez might have been the end of the matter in the middle, yet a deal for PSG midfielder Carlos Soler looks to be as good as done if exits can be secured to make room.
So while Fullkrug addressed the headline need for a new striker it can’t be ruled out that a second is brought in, especially as there have been reports of continued interest in Abraham and Jhon Duran since the German international arrived [HITC, 14 August].

After the Colombian scored the winner for Aston Villa over the Hammers in the Premier League opener it seems less likely that he will be available.
But Abraham very much is on the market and, allowing for his recent injury history, looks a relative bargain for a 26-year-old with Premier League and European experience.
It is quite possibly the same principle as with the Soler deal that if exits go through the Irons will pull the trigger, so with a market finally developing around Ings, according to Darren Witcoop [talkSPORT 2 [26 August, 6:49pm], this one is surely one to watch.
In other West Ham news, a highly-paid Irons player has rejected a move away from the club before the deadline.
