Tammy Abraham makes West Ham United decision ahead of new transfer

AS Roma striker is holding out for a move to AC Milan amid interest from West Ham, according to Sky Sports Italy.

The Italian broadcaster reported [30 July] that the 26-year-old forward has given the green light to the Rossoneri club and is not considering a switch to the Premier League with Everton or the Hammers.

It is understood that former Chelsea teammate Fikayo Tomori could have a telling impact on the transfer, though the centre-back has also been linked with a move to the London Stadium this summer [HITC].

West Ham United set to lose out on Tammy Abraham?

Julen Lopetegui has made his desire for a new striker signing clear this summer, with Abraham just the first of many names linked with the London Stadium.

Youssef En-Nesyri, Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion and, most recently, Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran are all names reportedly on the new manager’s transfer list.

With Danny Ings and Michail Antonio as the only two striker options at the club, Lopetegui is clearly not convinced by the firepower heading into the 2024/25 campaign, which explains the links with Niclas Fullkrug [Sky Sports].

The former has not quite done enough to convince he can be the main striker while the latter’s recent injury record will be a concern, having missed several matches last term.

Duran, 20, also looked to be a decent option for the Hammers but are deal looks to be completely off, with the two sides unable to come to an agreement [Sean Whetstone].

Tammy Abraham, West Ham
West Ham want to sign Tammy Abraham

Abraham’s prior experience in the division would suggest that he could be the best option for Lopetegui.

He scored 30 goals in 79 matches for Chelsea following a sensation loan spell at Villa Park, where he helped Villa to Premier League promotion with 26 goals in 40 games.

The Hammers would certainly benefit from his attacking prowess in the final third.
