Summerville could make West Ham United debut v Crystal Palace as medical booked – ExWHUemployee

Crysencio Summerville could make his West Ham United debut against Crystal Palace in Sunday’s friendly match with a medical in place to complete a deal, according to ExWHUemployee.

Writing on the West Ham Way website, Ex reported [31 July] that if all goes to plan with Summerville’s medical, the 22-year-old could appear in claret and blue for the first time this weekend.

Both London clubs are currently in Florida as part of their pre-season preparations, with the Hammers aiming to seal the deal on Summerville and bring him Stateside to take on their London rivals in a practice clash.

A deal has been agreed with Leeds United alongside personal terms for a switch with a base fee of £25m for the young Dutchman [Fabrizio Romano, 31 July].

Summerville set for West Ham medical

With a transfer on the verge of completion, West Ham will have bolstered a playmaking arsenal which already includes stars such as Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus.

Tim Steidten is on a mission to accelerate a transformation in Julen Lopetegui’s squad following the dawn of a new era at the London Stadium.

Summerville is a huge part of that project, with the Irons having seemingly beaten off competition from several Premier League rivals along with clubs from abroad including French champions PSG.

For the claret and blue supporters currently across the pond following their team, a reward for their dedication may turn out to be the first glimpse of Summerville wearing the badge.

The player himself has been able to agree personal terms quickly, with a reasonable transfer fee from the Hammers’ perspective allowing the purse to be stretched slightly more to accommodate his wage demands.

In other West Ham news, the final details are being arranged on a hopeful move for Niclas Fullkrug.
