Straight cash offer made as West Ham United-Max Kilman update emerges

West Ham have made a straight cash offer for Wolves defender Max Kilman over a potential summer transfer, according to Ben Jacobs.

The CBS Sports journalist claimed on 4 July that the English centre-back was keen on moving to the London Stadium and reuniting with Julen Lopetegui.

The offer is £40million which is viewed as a good piece of business by the Molineux outfit.

Via Twitter, Jacobs wrote: “The offer is straight cash. Wolves only paid £40k for Kilman from Maidenhead in 2018, so £40m is viewed as a fantastic bit of business for the club. Kilman keen on the move and to link up with Julen Lopetegui again.”

Julen Lopetegui can build the West Ham defence around Max Kilman

Lopetegui can build the Hammers’ defence around Kilman as his leadership qualities and experience as Wolves’ captain make him an ideal candidate to bolster their backline.

His versatility and adaptability, demonstrated by his ability to play in a back three or back four system, align well with Lopetegui’s tactical preferences.

The 27-year-old’s physical presence and aerial dominance, combined with his strong reading of the game, make him a formidable defender capable of nullifying opposition attacks.

The Englishman’s familiarity with Lopetegui’s coaching style and philosophy, having previously played under him at Wolves, allows for a seamless integration into the Irons setup.

By building the defence around Kilman, Lopetegui can establish a solid foundation for the team’s tactical approach and overall defensive solidity.

Hopefully, another centre-back is signed to perfectly complement him at the back.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers have made a significant transfer swoop as a bid has been submitted for a Euro 2024 star which is the highest one received by the club.
