Southampton fears grow over Kyle Walker-Peters exit as West Ham United update shared
Southampton are fearful that Kyle Walker-Peters will leave for nothing at the end of the season with West Ham among the interested parties, according to Darren Witcoop.
The journalist reported via The Sunday Mirror‘s print edition [17 November, page 79] that the Hammers were priced out of a move for the versatile right-back in the summer but could reignite their interest as his current deal expires in June.
The 27-year-old’s contract talks broke down in September at St Mary’s and the two-time capped England international has no plans to return to negotiations, which could give the Irons the green light to move.
Kyle Walker-Peters would be great signing for West Ham United
The ex-Tottenham man has been a top player for the Saints since joining on a permanent deal in August 2020.
First-team regular Walker-Peters has stuck by Southampton through thick and thin, helping them earn promotion from the Championship through the playoffs last season after being relegated the year before.
Now it appears his journey on the South Coast could be over as he refuses to return to contract negotiations with his current club after collapsing earlier in the year.
This could be the perfect opportunity for the Hammers to step in and take advantage of his situation to land the Englishman on a free transfer or on a cheap deal in the January transfer window.

The defender has plenty of versatility which means he can feature as a full-back or wing-back on either flank, which is only a positive.
This would provide superb depth for Julen Lopetegui’s side on the back of Aaron Wan-Bissaka coming in from Manchester United in the last window.
In other West Ham news, an international suspension will have Julen Lopetegui concerned once again.
