Sources share West Ham transfer stance on Ronnie Edwards, ‘fresh uncertainty’ verdict dropped
West Ham still have interest in signing Peterborough United defender Ronnie Edwards though “fresh uncertainty” remains as to whether he fits their transfer model, according to TeamTalk.
The online outlet described the 20-year-old as a “prime target” for the Hammers throughout the year, and added that the Posh were wanting £10million when West Ham were linked with his signature in the summer.
However, they also added there is doubt as to whether Edwards fits the model, while remains long-term doubts over David Moyes’ position as manager.

As such, any transfer or contract extensions are being treated with caution, which is why they have yet to formalise any offer for Edwards.
“The Hammers made inroads on a deal to sign him in the summer – when the Posh wanted £10million – yet could not conclude it, and while there is still interest, sources now indicate that there is fresh uncertainty over whether he fits the model,” the TeamTalk report read.
Worth a punt
West Ham have made a superb start to the season under Moyes, and sit seventh through eight games.
As always seems to be the case with the Hammers, though, there are rumblings over the futures of members of their squad going on in the background.
Captain Kurt Zouma has been linked with a switch to the lucrative Saudi Pro League, while Nayef Aguerd is a name who has been touted with a move to some of the Premier League’s big hitters.

West Ham are in a strong position and performing well on the pitch so there is little need to panic, but regardless of outgoings, you have to feel like a move for Edwards would represent good business.
Edwards is said to be well-fancied by a host of Premier League clubs, and aged just 20 he could be a great piece of business for the future.
The Hammers have to figure out their transfer and contract stance pretty swift, and if they do then a move for Edwards – on the face of it at least – seems to make complete sense.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have made a formal offer for an AC Milan defender.
