Soungoutou Magassa wanted by European giants amid £12m+ West Ham exit news
West Ham United are looking to put the disappointing 2025-26 campaign behind them and fight for an immediate return to the Premier League.
Succumbing to relegation on the final day of the season, the Irons' Championship future was confirmed, despite a 3-0 win against Leeds.
In recent weeks, it has been confirmed that Nuno Espirito Santo will continue leading the Hammers in the second tier.
But the Portuguese boss must be prepared to lose players, with a figure of around £150million said to be required from sales this summer.
On a list of players potentially in line for a move is £12.9m-rated Songoutou Magassa, who is being eyed by multiple clubs across the continent ahead of the transfer window.
Joining from Monaco in the summer of 2025, the 22-year-old made 22 appearances in the Premier League before falling out of favour in the season's final days.
Soungoutou Magassa eyed by continental giants - he may favour one move
Arriving for a fee of around £17m, the Frenchman made the move to East London with hype surrounding him.
So much so that he remained adored by former Monaco boss Adi Hutter, who said: "He was the best player on the team," following pre-season friendlies against Arsenal and Leeds in 2023.
Rejoining Eintracht Frankfurt ahead of the 2026-27 term, Hutter is interested in reuniting with Magassa, with French reports indicating that the Eagles are among a host of continental heavyweights tracking the midfielder.
Turkish giants Galatasaray are also said to be interested, while Juventus are mentioned as a potential destination.
From Magassa's perspective, a move to Frankfurt may be his best option though.
Unnearthing him at Monaco, Hutter knows him well, while he could become an instant starter at Deutsche Bank Park, in a side expected to be in and around the race for Europe.
West Ham on the other hand, will hope that those interested end up battling with each other - driving up the price in the process.
West Ham have a key target to hit alongside £150m sales figure
While the number in which the Hammers bring in this summer is vital, the speed in which they do so is even more so.
Compared to fellow relegated sides Wolves and Burnley, the East London club have had little to no time to prepare for second tier life, while they are already playing catch up on Wolves.
As they prepare for life in the second tier, a big rebuild is needed.
This can only be done once departures are confirmed, allowing Nuno to work with what will be his squad next term, rather than hanging on to those set for a move away.
If West Ham are to get the work done this summer in terms of incomings, the outgoings need to be sorted swiftly, without the situation dragging on longer than it should.
