Sky Sports shares West Ham United transfer news as Tim Steidten pushes Denis Zakaria
West Ham technical director Tim Steidten is the driving force behind the club’s move for Denis Zakaria, who tried to sign him for Bayer Leverkusen, according to Sky Sports.
It is reported that West Ham are in talks with Juventus over the signing of the Swiss midfielder who spent last season on loan at Chelsea and that the new technical director is driving the deal following his desire to bring Zakaria in at his former club.
The report goes on to detail West Ham’s interest in Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha, although there is a big gap in the clubs’ valuation of him, as well as targeting moves for Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse, Bristol City star Alex Scott, and Ajax destroyer Edson Alvarez.

Sky Sports shared that David Moyes’ side are going to formalise their interest in a number of players once Arsenal’s £105million deal for Declan Rice is officially completed.
Any two of the names mentioned would be brilliant
If West Ham can get deals done for at least two of the four players mentioned, it can be considered a successful transfer window, as they look to replace Rice by bolstering the midfield with a number of new options.
Zakaria clearly has his admirers at the London Stadium and his patchy loan spell at Chelsea seems to have had no effect on their desire to bring him to the club, with performances for his old club Monchengladbach seeming to have persuaded Steidten of his talent.

Alex Scott would be a real coup for the Hammers after the Bristol City star has gathered interest from several clubs in this transfer window including Liverpool, Brighton and Wolves, as a result of impressive performances in the Championship.
Ward-Prowse’s talent is well-known in England and would improve any team following Southampton’s relegation, while Ajax midfielder Alvarez would be the most like-for-like Rice replacement.
In other West Ham news, a potential swap deal has been floated between West Ham and a European club.
