Sky Sports reporter shares West Ham United transfer news as Robin Koch contract update drops
West Ham United have been informed of the contract conditions surrounding a transfer for Robin Koch this summer, according to Florian Plettenberg.
BILD journalist Tobi Alscheffl reported (17 June) that the Leeds United centre-back is being considered as a replacement for Declan Rice in the heart of the Hammers’ midfield.
Taking to Twitter on Saturday, Sky Sports Germany reporter Plettenberg shared an update on the chase for the 26-year-old, who is available on a free transfer this summer.

“Robin Koch, evaluating his options now as he can leave Leeds United on free deal,” he wrote.
“He wants to be a leader and regular starter in his new team. He wants to be part of the EURO 24.”
“West Ham informed on contract conditions. Final decision will take time.”
Great option
Although Leeds United shipped the most goals in the Premier League last season, Koch was one of the club’s better performers and is certainly an option to pursue.
The German has adapted well to the Premier League’s physical and relentless nature, however as a number six, he is a little unexposed.
He is strong on the ball and a mobile operator but is still a major dropoff from Declan Rice. But as a centre-back option for West Ham United, the 26-year-old ticks a lot of boxes.
Ever since Craig Dawson left the club in the January transfer window, the Hammers have been a little short-staffed in defence, with Nayef Aguerd and Kurt Zouma both injury-prone as well.
Considering David Moyes’ side will be playing European football once again, additions of Koch’s quality wouldn’t go amiss. The club struggled to juggle domestic and European football last term and will look to learn from their lessons moving forward.
