Santiago Gimenez transfer to Tottenham more plausible in West Ham United update
Dean Jones has shared that a move to Tottenham for Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez would be more plausible than a switch to West Ham United.
The former Eurosport journalist suggested that Gimenez sees his long-term future at the very top of the game, having already played Champions League football, with a £60million deal on the cards.
West Ham have been named among the interested clubs, but given the level of attention and desire for his signature, it is becoming more unlikely that they could get this deal over the line.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT on 5 November, Jones reported: “Santiago Gimenez is causing all sorts of fuss at the moment, and a lot of recruitment teams across the Premier League are tracking his situation.
“From what I have been able to gather so far, a move to Tottenham would be a lot more plausible than a move to West Ham or Fulham because this is a player who is already used to the Champions League and feels he has a place at the very top of the game.
“But there are big teams that Spurs are also going to have to win over if they make their interest firm, including Real Madrid. I’m told they are more likely than Barcelona as a landing spot at this moment and, when we start talking about these sorts of things, it’s pretty clear why a club like Fulham might have their work cut out to sign him.
“He’s also going to cost big money – I think somewhere towards £60million. But Feyenoord don’t even want to talk about that until the season is over.”
Hammers must move quickly
It appears the only chance West Ham have of completing a deal for Gimenez would come if they can get their foot in the door before anybody else makes a move. With Madrid and Spurs supposedly not having made their interest firm, there could still be a possibility.
Once clubs of that sort of stature, especially the Spanish giants, get involved then West Ham can almost rule themselves out of contention, but until that moment comes they will have to try their luck.

With 15 goals in 12 games across the Eredivisie and Champions League, Gimenez looks like exactly the type of striker the Hammers have been crying out for for years. His incredible goalscoring ability is something David Moyes simply doesn’t have at his disposal at this moment in time.
The search for a striker has been long-winded and drawn out since Gianluca Scamacca was sold in the summer, but as things stand it looks like the Hammers will have to wait a while longer to find a solution.
