‘Santiago Gimenez developments unsurprising’ as West Ham chase January deal
West Ham have been linked with a move to sign AC Milan striker Santiago Gimenez.
Niclas Fullkrug appears to be on his way out of West Ham, while Callum Wilson’s contract expires at the end of the current campaign.
Even taking both of those scenarios out of the conversation, it is imperative that the Hammers sign a striker to address their attacking concerns.
Gimenez had been linked with a move to the London Stadium, with the Mexico international’s agent speaking out on the reported interest.

Premier League interest doesn’t surprise Santiago Gimenez’s agent
Gimenez has even been admired by Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the past, but his time at AC Milan hasn’t been what many expected it to be.
In his 30 appearances for the Serie A giants, the 24-year-old has managed just seven goals and four assists, which is a huge drop off from the 19 contributions he had in 19 games at Feyenoord prior.
However, with links connecting him with a move to England, his agent, Rafaela Pimenta, has spoken out about the rumoured interest in an interview with ESPN.
“If the Premier League wants it, it doesn’t surprise me that they want it, that there are one or two or three clubs that may have that intention seems normal to me, but the idea of removing Milan is nonexistent,” she said.
“Santi arrived at Milan in January. He arrived at a Milan that wasn’t first in the standings, so to speak, a Milan that was in difficulty, because it’s not very pleasant. And now, Santi, all the actions, messages, words that I have with Milan, are always positive.
“There hasn’t been a moment where Milan told me, ‘Things aren’t going well,’ but all the press talks, and it’s getting too much, I call Milan, and Milan always tells me, ‘No, we’re fine, thank you.“
What would Santiago Gimenez bring to West Ham?
Based on his time in Holland, goals.
Gimenez scored 65 times for Feyenoord in 105 appearances, with 11 assists to his name across all competitions.
His finishing ability is by far his biggest attribute, with a tendency to be in the right place at the right time when needed, and West Ham would benefit from that massively.
Last season, the Mexico striker won 57.1 per cent of his aerial duels and 48.8 per cent of his duels in total.
He would be a massive upgrade on Fullkrug and Wilson, the former of whom has had a nightmare spell at the London Stadium.
