Said Benrahma: West Ham United star fully agrees personal terms as medical update shared by Dharhesh Sheth
Lyon are expecting Said Benrahma in France for a medical ahead of the transfer deadline after a loan-to-buy deal was agreed with West Ham worth more than £15m, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
Writing on his personal Twitter account (1 February), the Sky Sports journalist reports that all parties are hopeful a deal will be completed before the 10pm deadline in France.
Personal terms are now fully agreed between the Ligue 1 club and the winger and with the player already in France a deal should go through.
Finally
West Ham have been waiting on this deal to go through for what feels like an eternity now, but it seems to finally be going in the right direction.
Benrahma has struggled for regular football this season after falling down the pecking order, and that means David Moyes and the Hammers have been more open to allowing him to exit in the middle of the campaign.
A decent fee has been secured to let him go too and while it’s now probably too late to bring in a replacement during this transfer window, it will bolster the balance ahead of the summer.
The summer window is likely to be a busy one with several areas of the squad needing strengthening and reinforcements, so this extra boost will only be a good thing.
Benrahma leaves as someone with great memories but ultimately the timing is right for him to leave and for the squad to move on without him. Hopefully though the team won’t regret not having a replacement ready.
